Hi, I'm a newb - please be kind! :) I've searched the forums and I can't find a clear answer...I got an email alert today that read:

The following warning/error was logged by the smartd daemon:
Device: /dev/ada2, ATA error count increased from 0 to 2
For details see host's SYSLOG.
You can also use the smartctl utility for further investigation.

I don't know how to see the SYSLOG, but I did run smartctl -a on /dev/ada2 which gave the information below (sorry for the long post):

Is this something I need to worry about or can it be safely ignored?

Thanks very much!
Chris

Thanks William - can you tell if it means there are bad sectors, some sort of permanent damage? How can you tell it looks okay and what would tell me it's about to fail?

Thanks!
Chris

Those seem to be the most critical... And they tell there are no pending sectors neither uncorrectable, which is good.
I would start worrying when they start increasing...

Thanks very much - figure I might as well try to learn! :) So, good news and no need to panic just yet...
