Yikes... Sounds like a kernel bug or a bug in one of the drivers at least.

Okay

If there is anything to test let me know - as I said I'm moving a LOT of media from HDs USb HDs etc onto the box (I'm using SI3132 as I bought 2 lots of JMB362's and they both failed)

So now for the bug report. if there anyway to get a full log/dump file out?
Do you want full machine specs?

I know what's it's like, so any help I can give

Before filing a bug, have you run Memtest86+ for 24 hours to exonerate your memory modules? Some users have seen this error (Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode) caused by faulty RAM, although it is a fairly generic error but ensuring your RAM is functioning without errors would be my first step.

Memtest+ passes fine

Swapped out si3132 for Marvell 88SE912x

and when it crashed this time it actually autorebooted

Sep 21 16:08:03 freenas kernel: Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode

Sep 21 16:08:03 freenas kernel: Cannot dump. Device not defined or unavailable.
Sep 21 16:08:03 freenas kernel: Automatic reboot in 15 seconds - press a key on the console to abort
Sep 21 16:08:03 freenas kernel: Rebooting...
Sep 21 16:08:03 freenas kernel: cpu_reset: Stopping other CPUs

Now I have more questions:

Why can't it dump?
I'm using a Maxtor 6E040L0 (40Gig IDE) as my boot volume - hey it's spare - so there is plenty of space on it for dumpfiles/swap - could this be bad/have issues?
