Can anyone comment on why this is happening only in certain cases? Is it a client machine thing? A user's network setup? Seems interesting that it is so isolated in certain cases.

I have same issues here, have tried on many computers and get same results, tried release U1-U3 and all do it, just got a new intel machine, not branded and fresh install and services tab wont open, tried on many hardware and vitual machines and always end up with the same results, services tab just never opens,.. I want to upgrade some customers to 11 from 9.10, but its just not reliable enough for me to put in to production, been playing all morning with various versions and anything 11 seems to have this issue.
things I have tried to see what causes it for me are
upgrade from 9.10 -works until reboot
fresh install on 3 different hardware platforms - no config and services fails to load (different install media for each)
install to usb disk as boot device and SSD same - no services...

I can get it to fail 100% of the time now with every fresh install, I have one machine working overnight fine, then rebooted it and same issue.... apart from that, everything else seems good...

Can you comment on your network configuration at all? I know, this may seem like an odd question... But the only instance of this happening that I can reproduce is in an environment where there are very finely tuned security protocols in place on the user's firewall. Sorry, I dont have those specifics, but it would be interesting if your environment had a similar setup in having a "more security orientated firewall" setup. I am in the same situation as you and have rolled back problematic instances to 9.10 which works great. In my case, it was a fresh install of 11.0-U2 that was put onto the machine. No specific configurations in place and the Services tab would just hang on loading.

Well I thought it was platform related, hence trying different machines, networking makes no difference, currently trying on my home network which is just a switch, modem and wifi..I thought it was because I changed to static IP and the port number, but just doing a clean install on an Intel based i7 computer the services will not load and that's leaving all at dhcp etc.. if I do an install and it does work, which is rare, a reboot will kill it...

I have a couple of customers on very high end servers with 9.10 running that I almost upgraded, I am sure they would have carried on running fine, but with a visible bug, I'd prefer to wait, even if it works normally and it's just a gui bug

I am in the same boat. We run support for many production environments. I have updated a number of clients prior to seeing this issue. So again, interesting how this is only present sometimes. Look forward to either seeing a fix or any notes on how to mitigate said issue.

@88keys @danielhilst @dkusek Did any of you upload a previous config, and if so, did you verify the services tab loaded prior to uploading? See this post above.

Does it occur when loading the WebUI via HTTP, as well as on HTTPS, or just HTTPS?

Hello,

The issue with the Services tab not loading began with version 11.0. It is due to some kind of incompatibility between some browsers and the legacy GUI in Freenas 11 (I haven't yet tried the new GUI). For me, (I use Windows 10), the Services tab won't load with Firefox but it WILL load with IE. This issue has come up before in the forums and I thought IX Systems was aware of it. I've been hoping with each new Freenas 11 build that it would be fixed, but I'm now on 11 u4 and the problem still exists.

After a clean initial installation (11.0-U1) in my proxmox environment, I cannot configure the services in the web gui (loading does not stop/lasts forever).
The same is true for a clean 11.0-Release installation.

Does anyone have the same issue? Is there a solution?

Thank You
Chris

Dear Chris,
Installing SSL solves the problem.
Take a test ...
There is a video explaining how to do it:

That does not seem likely.

Configuring a ssl/tls cert is not the solution to your problem. I doubt it solved your problem. I suspect you have some browser plugin that is breaking the rendering of web pages.

I've read several bug reports that claim to have this issue addressed. However I just performed a fresh install and this bug persists.

Is there any new information to address this or should I submit another bug ticket for this issue?
