FreeNAS 11.1 Services tab not loading/ crashing

I installed FreeNAS 11.1 on my somewhat old pc and every time i try to get into the services tab the gui gets stuck in this screen. after rebooting it worked for 20 minutes and i was able to turn on smb and afp but then it got stuck again. next to the gui getting stuck I could not see my FreeNAS in my network folders tab on my local machine. does anyone know why this is happening or how I can fix it?
here are the hardware specs of my nas:
OS = FreeNAS-11.1-RELEASE
CPU = intel i3-4330
memory = 8GB DDR3
storage = 32 gib usb drive for OS, 2 X 2TB drives for storage in mirror
with a 1 GB/s NIC and some Gigabyte motherboard.

I am having the same issue in Firefox Quantum. It works ok in Google Chrome. Even the new UI works well on Chrome.

Are you running 11.1-U2? If not, does updating resolve the issue?

I am running 11.1-U1. I recently upgraded from 9.3 to 11.1-U1
