Hello, I have set spare drives for my pool on freebsd-12 and clearly know that automatic replace bad disk
with spare drive works only if zfsd service running.

In freebsd-12 i just set

/etc/rc.conf
zfsd_enable="YES"

to boot zfsd automatically.

How to do that in freenas via GUI, because obviously in freenas we need to do all the changes via GUI.
I was searching smth looking similar to zfsd on "Services" tab and cant find.

Could you help with zfsd ?

Well, i suppose i have found the answer in documentation.

ZFS provides the ability to have “hot” spares. These are drives that are connected to a pool, but not in use. If the pool experiences the failure of a data drive, the system uses the hot spare as a temporary replacement. If the failed drive is replaced with a new drive, the hot spare drive is no longer needed and reverts to being a hot spare. If the failed drive is instead removed from the pool, the spare is promoted to a full member of the pool. Hot spares can be added to a pool during or after creation. On FreeNAS®, hot spare actions are implemented by zfsd(8) (https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=zfsd).

So as i understand when we add spare drive via GUI freenas enables zfsd automatically.

Cool.
