Hi all - I'm hoping that the community can educate me on this matter or point me to helpful reading on the subject. I've recently been excited to discover that my old university GMail-based G-Suite email account includes unlimited Google Drive storage. Naturally, I'm looking at utilizing this perk for cloud-based backups of my FreeNAS data. I've been able to get everything up and running with FreeNAS' cloud sync tasks and have enabled encryption with a 128 character password and salt along with filename encryption. I'm curious, though, about how secure this encryption actually is with this implementation? My understanding is that, in theory, the university IT administration is able to access data in my Google Drive, so I'd like to be sure all is secure. Am I being paranoid? Thank you for your thoughts and feedback!
