SOLVED Scan to FTP from Printer Stopped Working

Hello.

I've had a Dell2155cdn printer/scanner that successfully scanned to FTP (onto my TrueNAS system) for years.

Now, it seems to have stopped working. Was there some kind of security change added that would block this?

The error that the printer gives is:

Cannot rename file on FTP server. Check file access rights and support of rename command. :031-578

That sounds like a permissions issue. But, it used to work with the same permissions. I have a user set up just for FTP and double-checked that this user and group have full read/write access to that folder.

Any ideas on what could have changed and how I can fix/troubleshoot?

[Have tried setting permissions to 777. Same error. No ACL installed. Is that needed? Do I need to give sudo rights?]

[Update 2: Can't even connect via Filezilla. Says login is incorrect? Double-checked login/pass multiple times.]

Solved it. I needed to add the user to the ftp group. Not sure if that is a new requirement? Or if I did something to change that and broke it...
