We have a TOSHIBA e-STUDIO3505AC network printer/scanner which has firmware dated as being installed in June 2012. It used to scan to the old openmediavault system just fine, I'm trying to get it to work with the new FreeNAS 11.1-U6 install but not having any joy at all. The user and hostname I'm specifying work with SSH from another computer on the LAN and work with SMB from a Windows 10 client but fail to authenticate with SMB from the Scanner with:
I have tried many variations on the network path / credentials and don't believe that this being mistyped is the issue.
Could there be an issue with an old SMB version? If so, how can I make FreeNAS drop protocol level. If not, how can I diagnose the issue?
(I can't find any firmware offerings at all to upgrade the machine, maybe you need a support contract to get hold of it?)
