The question from my side would be: Was it worth to buy from China? Those 20 bucks ... ?

Nevertheless, the pic might be taken as a placeholder for various products the seller is offering. I would not worry to much, still Iam interested to know when the card arrives.

In this case, I wasnt paying attention that it was coming from China, I probably would not have made the purchase in this case, especially because the savings was probably not even 20 bucks.

As far as the airflow I am using A Rosewill RSV-L4412 case which has a ton of airflow running through it, but always good to have the heads up that they run hot.
I tried to find a small rack to put it in but so far everything I found is too expensive to justify buying so it just sits on a the desk for now.

So question, here is a pic of the boot screen, it says IR on it so I figured I would have to flash, but when I got into FreeNAS it showed the 2 drives separate and let me stripe or mirror them however I wanted, so does that mean I dont need to flash the card?

You will need to flash to IT mode.

IR mode is not what you would like to have. The HBA is still doing some stuff on the hard drive and presenting a virtual drive to the OS.

If it's similar to the PERC H200/H310, the IR firmware on these cards will pass through unconfigured drives by default, but you likely still want the LSI IT firmware in order to have the latest revision and correct any bugs that were found and not patched in the Dell one.

I haven't crossflashed one of these cards specifically, so you might want to check for advice on this. It's a SAS2308 chipset, so don't accidentally use firmware or instructions for the SAS2008 series.

JACKPOT!! I ended up using the Dos Method to flash it from Broadcoms website but it says IT Mode

If anyone stumbles across this, these instructions were super easy to use and I just tweaked the files from the download page for my specific card.

Now to start test data integrity

BTW, --checksum or -c on 200gb of data takes forever!

LSI confirmed the card to be be authentic and was sold inside a Dell server. I have done 6, 200gb rsyncs using
"rsync --remove-source-files -rtv --checksum /mnt/Test-Server/Drive_1 /mnt/Test-Server/Drive_2"
and all seems ok, I think tomorrow it goes in the main rig.
