My searching as not found the answer to this, but can a root password be set for the root account in a standard jail?

If so, pointers to instructions would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Yup. While in the jail as root, run passwd and follow the prompts.

Which build version of FreeNAS (from System -> Information)? Was the jail created on this installation or carried over from an earlier (pre-9.3) version?
