Hi guys,
I am running FreeNAS v9.10 with Raidz2 6 * 2TB on Supermicro X10SL7-F (8 SAS port in IT mode).
I have reached to a maximum size and need to upgrade from 2TB to 4TB.

What are my options?

I have read the documentation but I have a little problem to understand the above "Note" part including to offline or replace the drive or both required.

Note: I have 2 SAS ports not used. Can I used them to speed up the upgrade or upgrade one drive at a time? Also found some people's used USB drive with 3.5 disk to replace or upgrade.

I would appreciate step by step guide. Thanks

If I decided to use the 2 empty SAS port to replace some of the current port, do I need to put the drives back where the existing drives were? Example:

Let say the 2 empty SAS port are 6 and 7 and I will replace the drive in port 1 when I finished replacing and removing the drive in port 1, do I move drive in port 6 to 1 or just leave the new drive in port 6 and let port 1 be empty?

Are you telling me drives sequence on port don't matters? What if decide by mistake move drive on port 1 to 2 and vice versa, does FreeNAS will not complain?
