Hi All,
On my servers running FreeNAS FreeNAS-11.3-U4.1 i replaced 1 failed SuperMicro Sata dom disk which i use as a mirrored bootdisk.
When ordering from SuperMicro i ordered the same size as the other Sata dom in the mirror, which is 32GB.
When replacing the disk in FreeNAS i get error: EZFS_BADDEV device is too small.
When checking the actual Sata dom disk size there is a very little difference. So actually FreeNAS is right but i was a bit supprised because i ordered a 32GB sata dom from SuperMicro. Maybe it's a hardware new revision? I don't know. But this size mismatch can cause problems in FreeNAS.
While searching the forum the only fix seems to re-install FreeNAS. Most posts were dated with FreeNAS version 9 so i'm wondering if there is another fix without re-installing FreeNAS?
The version i'm running is FreeNAS-11.3-U4.1
- 2 x 32GB sata dom raidz1 boot disks
- 8 x 6TB (2 pools raidz2)
- SuperMicro X9 platform
- 64GB ECC
- Intel Xeon E5-1620 v3
