Recommended HDD Power MGT

For SCALE what would be the recommended Power MGT for spinning HDDs in a RAIDZ1? The data on the pool is strictly static data (media, documents, etc...).

It is usually highly discouraged, because of the additional wear it puts on the drives. That is even more relevant for data center drives (as opposed to NAS drives). Plus a running VM (and possibly also Docker container) will react badly, if an I/O request needs too much time.
