Bought 2 of these a week or so ago and they arrived. Great buy for anyone wanting an M1015.

$98 for an official LSI 9211. Allegedly the big differences between the 9211 and the M1015 are that you can have up to 256 devices (versus 32 for the M1015) and the actual SFF-8087 connectors are in a different physical location.

So anyone that is going to need an M1015 in the future should look into this and buy before he runs out!

Haha. I didn't even notice that. I flashed it myself. Besides, if you plan to use it with FreeNAS it should be using P16 and you need to know how to reflash it because you will need to update it from time to time.

Isn't the device limit imposed by the firmware? IT should allow for 256 devices on either card, from what I've read.

I don't know. I find it odd that the firmware is the same on both, so the alleged 32 device limit on M1015s may not even exist. But since I've never seen someone try to hook up more than 32 devices its basically untested around here. So I just assume the "worst".
