Hey all. Don't know where to really find the answer to this but figured this would be the best place!

I have a Mellanox sx1024 headed my way. I want to have a 40gb uplink to it from my netgear xsm7224. I was planning on setting up a 4 port lag on the xsm7224 and having the run into a qsfp+ that was split on the other switch. Only thing is I don't know if that will function correctly. As in provide a 40gb uplink to the sx1024

The alternative is just run 4 10gb links from one switch to the other but to save on cabeling and ports I was going to try the other method.

Thanks in advance!

My guess is that it's likely, since QSFP+ is really just 4 10G links. I'm not sure of the specific configuration details though on each switch. Can't wait to hear the results though!

If there's no proprietary stacking, I'd guess it might work. Because depasseg said it best:

Alright sounds good. Worst comes to worst I can just create two lags and call it done, but was curious nonetheless.
