I have a problem which I am trying to get to the bottom of and hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can resolve it.
Version:
TrueNAS-12.0-U4.1
Fresh install
Create pool with 7 drives raidz2
Add a dataset
Add SMB share for windows
Transfer some files from workstation to NAS @1GB/s read and 600-700 MB/s write
All is good
Then I install a plugin from Supported repos for example NEXTCLOUD.
Choose the same dataset for installation.
Do the same file transfer, speed has now halved.
Uninstall the plugin and delete the dataset.
Delete the Pool
Re create new Pool
Add new dataset
Add SMB share
File transfer and still half the speed I was getting.
Reset all to default.
add new pool
add new dataset
add smb share
now everything back to normal transfer speed.
Add a plugging and then transfer speed halves again.
Rinse repeat and it gives the same results.
The plugin and jail creation must be changing something?
Any ideas?
My dashboard is showing the memory only utilising half around 18GB.
Normally its pegged at 38.5GB
So its like Truenas isn't using all the available memory.
