Are you running Plexpass in a plug-in or a self made jail?

As I recall the plugin places the plex media server data in a different location, so you'll have to adjust that guide accordingly.

No, you're failing to grasp my previous post. The plugin's directory structure is different from a self-built jail installation.

Manual installs are generally better than the plugins. With the Plex plugin, you are stuck with whatever version jail you are currently on and are at the mercy of the plugin maintainer to update the plugin ..

I switched from the plugin a bit ago because of that ..

But! .. the PMS_Updater.sh method is what I used to use to manually update the plugin and I still use it on my manual install.. might still work on plugin versions .. might not .. dono

seems like there are a lot of issue on truenas as opposed to the old freenas

I spun up the plugin version to check the location of 'plexmediaserver-plexpass' directory, and it is in the same location as described in the step-by-step guide I linked (/mnt/[poolname]/iocage/jails/[jailname]/root/usr/local/share/plexmediaserver-plexpass).
If you find a step-by-step guide for manually updating "unhelpful" there isn't much else that's going to get it done.

Thanks a lot, I just did this again using the github and it worked on the existing build, very cool. :)
