Hi guys, i'm posting in the hopes that you can help me with my Freenas server. Here are the current specs:

Intel Xeon E5410 @ 2.33GHz
32GB of DDR2 RAM
LSI/IBM M1015 in IT mode
4x 4TB HDD in RAID-Z2
1x Chelsio N320E-SR 10Gb card

This server is attached to a Dell R710 host server running Server 2012 R2. It has a Chelsio S320E dual port 10Gb card in it. This server is running Hyper-V, and attaches to the Freenas server via iSCSI.

The issue I'm currently having is that transfer speeds to and from the host seem to be suffering. The best speeds I have been able to achieve are around 40MB/s. I have also tried standard gigabit connectivity with a variety of NICs. Those seem to top out at 20MB/s consistently. I have done dd and iperf tests that confirm these numbers. I'm not sure what additional information you need, but I would be happy to provide it.

Thank you for any information you can provide to me, and possibly to others in this situation.

My apologies, I currently have two mirrored vdevs striped. The 16TB raw shows as 6TB currently.

I believe I have solved my own issue. After updating the BIOS, my speeds are now back to the 140-150 MB/s. Thanks to everyone who looked at this thread.

Fascinating. What motherboard is this?

Intel S5000PSL. I would have never thought that it could have this much affect on performance. I had upgraded the processor to the one I listed during the issues with performance. I'm guessing that there was something about the way the motherboard was addressing this processor that the BIOS upgrade resolved.
