I'm in need of assistance setting up the ownCloud service. Locally I have static routes set up for the different services on the server, for instance oC is on 192.168.1.2, additionally I've forwarded port 8080 to this address.

My ISP provides me with a dynamic address, for this reason I've enabled DDNS on my router. This set up works great and I've successfully connected to the Plex service on the server using the No-IP host.

However I'm not as successful when connecting to my oC service. On my phone, running Android 4.4, I type in the server as my https://no-ip provided host.com/owncloud/remote.php/webdav , "The server took too long to respond."
This is of course on the cellular network, wifi it works fine.

On my Win system I've installed the oC client. During set up I am again unable to connect to the server, mind you, I'm doing this on the same network as the server. I enter https://no-ip provided host.com/owncloud/ , "Failed to connect to onwCloud at ... : Connection refused."

I'm wondering if I've missed any steps.

Are you forwarding the ownCloud https port through your router too? 8080 is not the default https port and you're not specifying a port in your link so you would have to forward 443 as well (if this is the port ownCloud is using). If ownCloud is using a different port then you need to forward that port and specify it in the URL.

I've forwarded both 443 and 80 on the router, then I tried to access it on the phone with Https://no-ip: port/ . "Couldn't establish connection."

Then I tried no-ip.com/owncloud/remote.php/webdav , "The server took too long to respond."

Are those the ports configured in ownCloud? Also your ISP may mess with those ports to avoid customers hosting servers. You might try changing the ports to a high number, forward those and access externally. Make sure you use HTTP with the correct port and HTTPS with the correct port.

I was under the impression that ownCloud worked with it's own predetermined ports. In any case, where can I find the settings to configure the ports in FreeNAS for the ownCloud service?

Why not ask the owncloud forums... this is the FreeNAS forums...
