The editors need to be able to get folder sizes across the network but only get, either 'zero bytes' or an old size that stays the same.
Is there a refresh file properties command?

Any ideas?

Thanks

By what means are the editors looking at the folder size?
How is the folder shared to the network?
Which revision of FreeNAS 11 are you using?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for replying. It's currently FreeNAS-11.1-U2
Through AFP - just 'Get Info' from Finder on the folder.

I have seen this in Win & MacOS. As near as I can tell, get-info gives 0/0 on the share root but does work in subordinate dirs. My work around is go one level lower. For example, if I have a share named Stores with dirs Media & Source, get-info (MacOS) or Properties (Win) of Stores shows 0 bytes in 0 files. If I go to Stores & look at all dirs, I get the result I expect. Hope this helps.

Still having this issue. some folders just show 'Zero' for sizes which have a load of big files in. I wonder if there's a way to reset the file/folder info?

If it is a mapped drive in Windows, it works. Perhaps if it were mounted?

We don't have Windows systems. It's all Mac OSX using afp & sometimes smb. (Which it does the same thing)
I've been trying some things and there seems to be a hidden .~tmp folder in each folder which the Get Info' is reporting the size from. When I delete the contents of the tmp folder it reports correctly.
Maybe a delete protection? Thanks
