Hey,
Having a few problems. One of my disks failed from my 6x3Tb Z1 raid. So I decided I would take the opportunity to expand my pool and implement Z2 redundency.
All of the drives are Seagate ST3000DM001 Barracudas. Out of a mere few quid difference I bought 3 additional Toshiba 3Tb DT01ACA300 drives.
Once they arrived I banged them in, destroyed my old pool, created the new one and restored from my backup. Once that completed I was getting alot of errors due to unreadable sectors from ada1 + ada5. So I ran a long SMART test on each and then scrubed my pool. This is what im left with:
Jan 12 21:32:29 freenas smartd[2831]: Device: /dev/ada1, 320 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors
Jan 12 21:32:29 freenas smartd[2831]: Device: /dev/ada5, 672 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors
I have been looking up a lot on stuff related to this mess but im a little lost.
Some people have suggested force writing to the bad sectors to reallocate them using -
However this seems rather sketchy and I dont understand how the code will work as its writing nonsensical data to my pool.
Also I could just use 'zpool clear' but again I dont think this solves anything.
While I WILL be buying new drives and returning these ones I would really appreciate a little explanation on this issue.
Thank you :)
EDIT//- I am also going to run a long smart test on the 3rd Toshiba drive (as these all came from the same supplier) as I only have a Z2 raid I dont particually want problems with this one aswell in the mean time.
Could you also advise if I should resilver or restore from my backup(therefore destroy + recreate my pool)?

Powered_Up_Time is measured from power on, and printed as
DDd+hh:mm:SS.sss where DD=days, hh=hours, mm=minutes,
SS=sec, and sss=millisec. It "wraps" after 49.710 days.
Error 5325 occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 61 hours (2 days + 13 hours)
When the command that caused the error occurred, the device was active or idle.
After command completion occurred, registers were:

I have been looking up a lot on stuff related to this mess but im a little lost.
Some people have suggested force writing to the bad sectors to reallocate them using -
Code:
sysctl kern.geom.debugflags=16 dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/adaX bs=4096 count=1 seek=451632936 conv=noerror,sync
