Not able to see Dataset folders?

After creating a shared volume I started to create datasets within that volume. I can see the datasets on another PC only by creating a shortcut on the desktop using the IP address, but if I typed \\servername on the run line I can see the shared volume but after double clicking that folder I can't see any dataset folders.

Why Is this?

Sorry after being away from the computer for some time I tried to connect to those dataset folders again and I was able to see them.

Why did that take so long?

Could it be I don't have the recommended amount of RAM (4GB instead of 8GB)?
