Hi,

I am new on True NAS.

My problem ist the following:
I want to install True NAS V 12.0 on an Acer Veriton M4610 G computer.

It does not work. I go through the normal installation routine and then I want to boot. Booting does not work. The installation went through without errors, but it was not possible to boot from the hard disk.

Is True NAS bound to special hardware?
Is my system too old?

Windows 7 can be installed without problems and it works on this PC....

Thanks.

You should describe your hardware in a bit more detail. CPU, RAM, NIC, etc.

Looks like some old Sandy Bridge desktop. If you can find a RAM upgrade to 8GB or 16GB, it might not be a total catastrophe, but it is likely to have issues with what is probably a Realtek ethernet, an undersized PSU if you're going to run more than a few disks, no good options for boot devices unless you hook up a SATA SSD, etc.

The interesting bit I found about that system... In the various updates from Acer, it has a "BIOS for Linux". That's kind of odd. I'd research that and see what differences are... You may be off in the weeds with that one.
