No incremental base on dataset 'xyz' and replication from scratch is not allowed

Hi,
I'm using snapshot replication for backup.
Just to confirm, I have this error when I tried to update my backup today: No incremental base on dataset 'xyz' and replication from scratch is not allowed"
does this means the daily snapshot I replicate are not kept long enough and there is a "hole" between the last time I executed replication and current daily snapshot past days availability? That means I have to either backup more frequently or increase snapshot retention duration?

I cannot help you directly from the information you provided above, but I suggest that you try a search here for "replication is not allowed" - I just did so and there are a number of postings with the same or similar error from which you may find parallels and some ideas.

Without details of your daily snapshot configuration and that of your replication (backup) task, too, can't comment on your hypothesis. Maybe you just need to allow starting from scratch ...
