Hello, folks,
I have a problem with my FreeNAS installed on an ESXI: I can't select hard disks to create volumes even though they are displayed in the show Disks view.

Many thanks for the help in advance.

We need to know exactly how the VM was setup EVERY OPTION SELECTED. It sounds like you are not using a disk controller in passthrough mode but have simply added virtual disks. This is fine for testing but not acceptable for long term data storage as it is not safe/stable.

Once we have more information we can help.

If I'm reading you right, you're saying that you see da1 in the list of disks and want to use it, but don't see it in the second screen to create a volume/pool.

This will happen if da1 already has data on it. You can try to wipe da1 (assuming that's fine for you) on the view disks screen, then try adding the volume.

Do you mean that I should remove da1 and then go directly to the screen where the volumes are created. Or should I format da1 completely once?

Could you please provide more information about your VM? Something like the pic would be nice, also: Any passthrough HBA?

Select da1 and use the wipe button.
