I tried to search for another thread regarding this, as well as Google... but everything i could find sent me to the web admin tools/disks dropdown list. I know my issue is likely related to an ancient 3Ware card, and that I might also have issues with the other 2 options I have. I'm installing on an Intel SE7520BD2 server board with zeon 2.8 CPUs, and 8 gigs ecc ddr2 (400ghz) ram. For testing different server "flavors" I have put in the old 3ware 7800 card, and 7 ide drives I can format and wipe and not worry about. They are not set up as raid, simply jbod. I also have an LSI 9500-12, and a LSI 9650-12 (both for sata) and a pile of 2tb drives for the final install. So, my question is, while watching the first boot, I could see that freenas saw the drives on the 3ware card, but they are not listed anywhere in the guide admin tool to use for anything. I am using freenas 11.2 loaded via cd. Ah, the other caveat... here at the farm, in the sticks, no internet, except this phone, and it is sketchy at best. To download anything I have to visit a friend with wifi, lol. Got a love rural america...

I think you need to find some newer hardware. This is too old to be worth the attempt of troubleshooting, but it is very likely an incompatibility.
That system board was released in 2005, making it 14 years old. I spent more time looking that up than the hardware is worth.

Although it is not stipulated in the Hardware Requirements, you should only look at hardware less than six years old.
