Hello,

I have a AsRock mini ate C2750D4I mobo, 10x 3TB WD Red setup and a raid controller to expand my setup with x5 3TB drives also WD Red.
With some slight problems in the beginning I managed the raid card to find an initialise the 4 drives (1 is connected to the mobo) I also configured the drives as JBOD.

My problem, when I go to FreeNAS the drives are not visible at all. View disks only shows the drives that are directly connected to de mobo not the raid card.
I rechecked the raid bios and the JBOD config is still there.
Could someone help me out?

Not without knowing, at a minimum, what RAID card and version of FreeNAS you're using. Why are you using a RAID card in the first place? They're very rarely a good idea with FreeNAS/ZFS.

Edit: I see in another thread you mention that you're using an Adaptec RAID 5805. Adaptec cards are usually a bad choice, and as I said above, RAID controllers are rarely a good idea either. But let's see if your system can see the drives at all. What's the output of 'camcontrol devlist'?

Sorry forgot the mention it. I am using a Adaptec RAID 5805. I got it at a good second hand price and was unaware of the HBA cards. If I had know I would have gotten a HBA card. The plan was not to use the Raid features of the card and just use it to expand my sata ports by 8.
Running FreeNAS-9.2.1.5-RELEASE-x64 (80c1d35)

5 drives of my second volume are currently offline due to a power cable break, waiting for a replacement.

found it.

edit,
If I understand this correctly the top 4 should be the raid card and the bottom 6 the one on my mobo.
First 5 are my first raid z volume and the 1 I will add to the 4 from the raid card. Thats the plan.

Looks like the RAID controller isn't supported--notice that those drives don't have an Ada or da number. Get a proper HBA and you should be fine.

Just ordered the LSI 9211-8i out of pure frustration. Gonna take a couple of weeks to get here though. (China post is slow :P)
