No alerts for failed SMART tests

I happened to be looking at SMART info and noticed that one of my drives has been failing SMART tests on and off for a while. I haven't seen any email alerts about these. Should I have? I have my email address added in the SMART services section and the alerts section. Do I need to configure it somewhere else?

To configure the e-mail address is one thing. Did you turned On the e-mail Alert Service at the same moment ?

Also, to put your e-mail as a destination for alerts is one thing. Did you also configured the e-mail server to use for sending these alerts ?

If you use the built-in test message, do you receive it ?

A lot of things to check here...

Yes to all. I have email setup correctly I receive the daily emails as well as other alert messages. I also just sent an alert test message and received that as well. The alert setting for self-test errors is also set to "IMMEDIATELY"

On second though this probably isn't an email issue anyway, I don't/didn't see any alerts in the GUI for these self-test fails either. Maybe this is an issue with the alert functionality?

Possibly for your hardware configuration. Create a report at bugs.ixsystems.com that includes your debug so a dev can investigate. Post the issue number here.
