Nextcloud upgrade?

I am currently using the Nextcloud plugin.
I'd like to use a later/the latest version but I get this message...

You are running PHP 5.5. To allow you to upgrade to Nextcloud 11 and higher you need to run at least PHP 5.6. Once you upgraded your PHP version you will be able to receive update notifications for these newer versions.

I presume as a plugin thats not possible but also suspect if I reinstall as a jail (not plugin) the same limitation applies???

Am I stuck with using a VM if I want to use a later version (Not major issue but wanted to stay slim...)

Is there a FreeNAS roadmap to overcome this or is it simpler than I think?

Not correct. There is a tutorial on the forum for installing owncloud with PHP7 that works the same for nextcloud. Follow the instructions and replace every instance of owncloud with nextcloud.

There is already a full guide to install nextcloud in a iocage jail. It also work for nextcloud 13.

Thanks, I'd seen them but for some reason (!) not really taken them as applicable. Will study them more closely. Cheers
