Newb: Will this scrub ever complete...?

Hi,

I'm doing my first scrub since adding some data to my pool...

So far it's taken 36h, says it's got 520000 secs to go and climbing relentlessly. It's not a powerful box but I only have 6TB storage with about 50% free.

Is it taking too long? Something wrong?

Can't get to /var/run/dmesg.boot at the moment... Getting login key error. Will take me some time to figure out! :)

How did you get the zpool status -v then? Just enter cat /var/run/dmesg.boot at the same command line prompt. Then copy & paste.
N.B. Please use code blocks for that.

Didn't realise Nano was built in to Freenas... :)

This is /var/run/dmesg.boot

Not just the top 20 lines, all of it. Please use cat instead of nano ... and put that into a code block. Please .. did you even read what I wrote?

And add the output of gpart list - thanks.

So you have three different 1.9 TB drives in your pool? Did I get that correctly?
1 HGST Deskstar
1 Seagate Ironwolf NAS drive
1 WD Caviar Green

I would see a problem if your pool was actually resilvering because two of your drives are desktop drives that possibly use SMR. But a scrub that does not detect any inconsistencies is just reading the disk, nothing else. In principle the pool should be fine.
I there any other disk activity going on in parallel? Specifically things that would cause a lot of seeking?

Your memory is a bit low in general, though I don't know from the top of my head how that is related to scrub speed.

Anyone else with an idea?

1 Seagate Ironwolf NAS drive
1 WD Caviar Green

I would see a problem if your pool was actually resilvering because two of your drives are desktop drives that possibly use SMR. But a scrub that does not detect any inconsistencies is just reading the disk, nothing else.
I there any other disk activity going on in parallel? Specifically things that would cause a lot of seeking?

Anyone else with an idea?
Patrick,

There are 4 2TB drives... The share isn't even mounted at the moment...

Your zpool status is cut off, it shows only three and one with only half the GPTID.

Ok, there's a Samsung Ecogreen drive in addition to the three I already listed.
Is there a reason why you picked 4 completely different drives? But as I wrote strictly for reading that should not be a problem.

They're repurposed drives. All I have for now...

Is the system possibly swapping to the disks because of the low memory? swapinfo and vmstat 2 would tell that.
