Ive been keeping my 9.3 box as up to date as possible, and went to install yesterday's updates and my log is returning these errors:
I have two different 16GB flash drives mirrored, one on a USB2 header, one on the internal USB3 header.
Jan 17 09:24:59 HomeNAS updated.py: [freenasOS.Update:699] Unable to mount boot-environment FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201501162230
Jan 17 09:25:06 HomeNAS updated.py: [freenasOS.Update:741] Update got exception during update: Unable to mount boot-environment FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201501162230
Jan 17 09:25:07 HomeNAS manage.py: [middleware.exceptions:38] [MiddlewareError: Unable to mount boot-environment FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201501162230]

These are the updates pending:
Upgrade: base-os-9.3-STABLE-10199d3-2930742-97f6b5a -> base-os-9.3-STABLE-b6a1181-4edb7b0-97f6b5a
Upgrade: FreeNASUI-9.3-STABLE-10199d3-2930742-97f6b5a -> FreeNASUI-9.3-STABLE-b6a1181-4edb7b0-97f6b5a
Upgrade: freenas-pkg-tools-9.3-STABLE-82d7111 -> freenas-pkg-tools-9.3-STABLE-10594d6

I verified the installation files just for good measure, but other than that im stuck.

Edit: just saw this: https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/a-furious-week-of-9-3-stable-updates.26796/#post-170762

Well, the manual update went through fine. Had a bit of a hard time finding documentation for that, but I got through it.

Everything seems to be good

Had the same problem. I believe at one point that was a problem previously too, or something similar where it wasnt updating. My fix was to go to activate the previous boot image from the last update and then update from there. Works like a charm.
