New FreeNAS build

Please, let us know how it goes. I am curious about the feasibility of such a build for a newbie like myself.

For sure this is my first build I will keep everyone posted and will be asking a lot of questions too :)

I am still looking for a power supply would you recommend anything specific?

That Seasonic is a bit more expensive than what I would suggest, but it is a quality unit that should last you for a very long time. As to if it is enough capacity, you need to run the numbers to decide. Here is the guide I would suggest using:

PS. I prefer to have more capacity than I anticipate needing in my power supply so that I can add components later and continue with the same supply. It doesn't really hurt that much to have an over powerful supply and you can keep using it for a long time. I am still using two 750 watt supplies that I bought around six years ago. They have not given me any trouble in all that time and they are both being used in their second system build.

Thanks Chris, I am not firm on the Seasonic I am open to suggestions if I can save money. I will probably go high a higher wattage power supply just for future expandability as suggested in the article you mentioned.
