New account function

Hi

Relatively new user of TrueNAS. From my preliminary understanding of creating new accounts, it seems a home directory is created to accommodate a single user. If instead I wanted many users to access TrueNAS without creating home directories, is this possible?

I run a computer service shop where I just need TrueNAS to host data of all types for the servicing of Windows etc. Just don't need individual users to have a "home".

That's what a guest share is for. You wouldn't even need to create user accounts in this case.

Thank you Samuel. Is there an option to have the guest account have authentication and rwx permissions? (just in case)
