My current plan is:

1: Server: To have a Main Server that will house all my VMs (vTrueNAS backing up to the NAS) (smb server , plex, jellyfin, ect...)
Going to be using an PowerEdge R730

2: NAS: To create a standalone TrueNAS Core. This will be my network storage. All my movies/music/books will be downloaded from the main server (plex, jellyfin ect..) and then stored here. (12 bay 3.5 inch HDD CMRs) For this TrueNAS what should I look at into getting the best performance as possible?

3. Backup Storage: (RSYNCs) Where is the best place I store the NAS backups to these backups? Do I create another TrueNAS standalone server, any server will work for the backups, (Storage Array)

Things I know for TrueNAS:
Use ECC Memory
More Memory is better
CPU doesn't really matter just needs to support ECC (especially since its standalone)
CMR Drives are a must

TrueNASCore NAS Build:
Rosewill RSV-L4412U 4U Server Chassis Rackmount Case | 12 Hot Swap 3.5" (upgradability)
SUPERMICRO MBD-X11SSM-F-O Micro ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1151 Intel C236 ( Would going with an X10 be ok too to keep costs down?)
Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD 6TB 7200 RPM 512e SATA 6Gb/s 128MB-Cache 3.5-Inch Hard Disk Drive (ST6000NM0024) X4
Will do a RAIDZ1(because I will also have backups I feel comfortable with this)
SSD 60GB X2 (for the OS in mirror mode) Or I guess I could just backup the config file?
Samsung 16GB ECC DDR4 2666MHz PC4-21300 X2
Intel Core i3-6300

Any and all suggestions are welcomed. Looking to get the best performance for what I can afford.

Make certain that you do NOT have a PERC H7xx RAID controller (I don't know for sure which one commonly came with these). With the exception of the H710, none of the H7 series controllers is suitable for crossflashing and therefore cannot be safely used with TrueNAS.
