[NEED HELP] "zpool import" pool after reainstalling Freenas.

Hello everyone!
Hopefully you can help me with my current problem.
I had to shutdown my Freenas server and after turning it back on my 2 boot USB's failed (mirrored SanDisk USB's)
Shutdown was perfomed via web GUI.
After reinstalling Freenas 11.2-U7 on M.2 SSD in usb enclosure I couldn't import my pool into newly installed Freenas.
No hardware changes were done, except new SSD in USB enclosure as boot device was added.
GUI doesn't see any pools.
"zpool import" does nothing
I upgraded to 11.3-U3 in hopes it will help, but still can't see any pools.
I tried "zpool import pool" with "no such pool available" as result.
"zpool import -f" or "zpool import -d" does nothing

There are 2 errors in web GUI:

I would appreciate any help and tips.

  • RAM quantity
    • 32gb DDR4 Non-ECC. Corsair LPX.

Good morning and thank you for sharing this link.
I red through it and it seems some of the solutions might be applied to my situation.
What was done so far:
  • Swapped sata cables 2-3 times, tried to use brand new cables.
  • Swapped PSU
  • Swapped motherboard and CPU
  • Swapped OS boot media and installed FreeNAS 11.3-U4.
  • Added extra storage to retrieve data from disks in case I won't be able to import pool.
  • Run 'smartctl -t long" on all 5 disks
  • Run MemTest 86, 4 passes with no errors. Still using same RAM sticks
I got more warning messages like this FreeNAS UI:

'zpool import' command doesn't show anything. Pool not even identified.

I want to see what options I have:
  • try to fix disc errors
  • remove some disks and see if something will change
  • run 'zpool import' with diffrenet options like -fF, -D, -X or similar. I don't know from where to start.
  • try to retrieve data from disks
  • maybe run clonezilla and copy disk to another disk? I have sspare 2 x 4 tb seagates
I will apprecieate any tip.

From what I can see, you've been extremely unlucky, and suffered 3 failed disks simultaneously.

Thank you for quick reply. I red different opinions on that topic. However it seems that it's better to stop disks on idle. Lesson learned.

What I can do in this case? Possibly I have some options?

You're unfortunately now forced to perform disk recovery. What you can do is to pull all the drives from the pool, and attempt to image them to RAW files suitable for recovery via Klennet. This tool has a pretty good track record here. Then save the disks in case you need to use a recovery service. Once the disks are all pulled, you can delete the pool, and build a new pool using fresh disks.
