Need help setting up ISCI

I'm having trouble figuring out how to get ISCI set up. (If this is the wrong spot of the forums to post this I apologize, I'm not sure where it belongs). I've never used ISCSI before but I understand the basics. I have two systems running Truenas Scale, one is for storage and one is for compute, I want to be able to connect the compute server to the storage server, and I figured ISCI is what's needed for that. I have ISCI running on my storage server with a 1TiB block and allowing all initiators, but I can't figure out how to make my compute server connect. Is this possible, or is this situation what gluster is aiming to solve? TLDR: I would like for apps (both Kubernetes and VMs) running on my compute server to be able to store on the storage server, is ISCI able to solve this, and if so how do I make TrueNAS connect to my other TrueNAS system running ISCI?

SCALE does two things well:
1) Acts as a storage node: iSCSI, NFS, SMB - its also has Kubernetes CSI driver support
2) Acts as converged compute and storage node: KVM and Kubernetes

SCALE does not currently act as a compute-only server. That will improve next year.
