Help! I'm new to this form and to TrueNAS so I'm just getting into the hang of it.

I recently installed Truenas onto my old computer and, set up a few things like a jail for Plex, a pool of my drives, and all my users. I had it set up on my kitchen table whilst I was doing all the work, then went to move it into another room where it would live permanently, after I booted it up again, everything was gone. My 2 boot pools, my groups, my users, my SMB setting, the only thing that remained was the updated network name for the NAS. and then today that went too. Locally I didn't delete my original files on my old NAS just in case:wink: so it's not the end of the world.

I'm going to get it set up again but am worried that in the event of a power outage or something this will happen again.

Does anyone know what I might have done wrong or how to avoid it in the future? I know I can back it up but I would like to not have to reload everything again and again if this is a frequent occurrence.

I have my boot on a separate NVMe, I had a NVMe for my Jails, and 4 4TB drives as a storage pool, I'm running a i5 6500 with 16Gb ram

How do conclude everything is gone? You logged into the web GUI and were greeted with a working system, but under Storage -> Pools, nothing is listed?

My 2 boot pools
Two boot pools? You can only have one boot pool. If your boot pool goes, you wouldn't even be able to boot in the first place.

When it loaded, the pools were no longer showing up in the dashboard on under storage, and the jails were also gone along with the plugins, I was able to reload my storage pool when trying to recreate a pool again.

So you were able to successfully re-import your two storage pools without issue?

I was, I guess more of what I'm looking to know is why that may have happened, and how to avoid it in the future. I would like to not have to remount everything every time my NAS is powered down.
