My server goes offline randomly and i habe no access even with a monitor.

Hi. My server running an intel i3-2100 goes offline randomly sometimes under the night. When i check, i have no access to it through the gui and even with a monitor, there is no output. This is a big problem as my server also acts as a pihole server so when it goes offline, i have no internet.

It's it actually powered off or can't you reach it / have no video output?

Did you check /var/log/syslog or /var/log/dmesg for clues?

Please post your complete hardware in detail. Is this new behavior?

As for pihole, spin up a second instance on another machine (pihole, another server, ...) and use something like keepalived for fail over.

I cannot reach it but it is running. I had a look at the logs but i cannot access syslog while dmesg apparently does not exist. This behaviour happend to me for weeks now but i reinstalled truenas scale and everything worked well for 1.5 weeks approx. I have an i5-2100, 8gb ddr3, 250gb samsung ssd for boot, two 2.5" hdds for storage, a lenovo mobo, and a silverstone psu. Everything is compatible and the psu is more than enough powerful for this.
