I'm new to the server world and just installed freenas corral. When setting up volumes I'm missing 1 of my 8 drives but it does show in the system overview. I did install freenas on a thumb drive before any of the hard drives were even installed in the system.

Any help in beginner English would be appreciated. Thanks

I installed 9.10 first and had the same problem.
Without more information, it will be difficult to help you.
Your problem is not FreeNAS, it's related to your hardware.
Please see @joeschmuck 's Hard Drive Troubleshooting Guide in the Resources Section.

This is a canned response in order to speed up the process of helping you and the team of forum supporters.

Some simple steps to take (depending on the problem):
1) If you have not already done so, Read the Fourm Rules. These are very short and provide you some information on what type of data we expect you to provide.
2) If you have a setup or configuration question please read the user manual using the link located at the top of the page.
3) If you have a problem/failure, please perform a Forum or Google search for your question/error message. If this does not reveal a solution then please read the Forum Rules and provide the required data (system hardware and any configuration data) if it hasn't already been provided.

Google Search Example: "freenas jail no dhcp" or "freenas offline uncorrectable sectors". A search like this can provide a quick answer.

Cheers!

P.S. Why did you install Corral? I'm just assuming that you have done some due dilligence in reading the forums and knew that Corral was a failure, if you didn't know this then I highly recommend you do some research on FreeNAS and read the user manual before moving forward on this project or you are apt to set yourself up for failure. FreeNAS 9.10.2-U4 is a safe bet right now.

List your hardware.
