Hey all,

I recently build a server for trueNAS to replace my synology and i am having trouble with trueNAS not seeing my disks.

setup:
asrock rack x470, ryzen 3600, 32gb ram
ESXI-7.0, trueNAS 12.0 as a VM
LSI SAS9210-8i in IT mode
- 5x 12tb seagate exos x14
- 1x 8tb seagate exos x7

when i boot, i can see that the raid card detects the drives:

however, in trueNAS, I cant see them at all when i go to the disks section. the 5x 12TB were from the synology. the 8TB is an NTFS formatted drive used on a usb sata dock.

in eSXI, under the trueNAS vm, i see the controller listed:

i am not sure what i am doing wrong. any help?

Thanks,

Adnan

Are you passing the LSI card in with PCI passthrough? (it doesn't look like you are)

Without that, you shouldn't see the disks.

@sretalla sorry for the late reply. i spent a few days trying to figure this out without luck. I cant seem to add the LSI card with PCI passthrough. The option is greyed out and i do not know why.

as you can see, i have "expose hardware assisted virtuation to the guest OS" disabled. Are there any other settings, possibly in the BIOS, that i need to enable / disable in order to get this working?
