Messed up with creating SMB share; cron chmod not permitted

I am not quite sure what I did wrong yesterday. I was trying to create an SMB share that could be mounted on two different computers with the least hassle of permissions; this is a home network, so not as critical as many/most other instances. I wanted this share to be written to by a Linux-based machine and read by a Windows 10-based machine. These two machines are happy but apparently, my TrueNAS machine isn't. I'm getting tons of emails giving me "CronTask Run" errors where apparently a "chmod" command is being run on every file and folder of this share and "operation not permitted." While I could just ignore these messages, I'm guessing that I should truly rectify why the errors are being generated, I just don't know where to start. I've created other shares that I thought I'd created the same way and never received a complaint message. I'm not sure what I did differently this time.
