I'm attempting to do a memory test on my new hardware using Memtest86+ 5.01 on an Ubuntu 20.04 Live USB, but it freezes almost straight away every time at the same value during the L1 Cache test an I have to a hard reset. I have read there are sometimes issues with Memtest86 and certain hardware, but have not found any references to the X11 boards.
Has anyone else experienced same issue with similar hardware and is there any alternativ ways / options to do a full memory test?

That's seriously old software! You should rather download a modern MemTest86 by Passmark run the test anew.

Thanks for letting me know :) This is the first time I am doing this so I had no idea. Strange that it comes as the default with the Ubuntu 20.04 Live version.

I was able to run the latest MemTest86. It passed, but it is reporting a lot of ECC correctable errors. Is this normal and just due to the memory being stressed during the test?

No errors would be typical. One error could pass as ECC working as it should. So many errors is an issue. Check that all modules are well-seated (possibly swapping them) and rerun the test.

That is not good :| I only have the one memory module. I'll check that it is we'll seated and run the test again. If it continues with many errors is there anything else I could try or should I just return the module?
