I'm trying to find some kind of scheme to backup/archive images.
As it is, I have sufficient storage on 2 different NAS'es (one is my main, one is for backups) to store and backup all my images in their raw formats (including poorly-culled). I also back up to 2 different external hard drives (one kept at home, one kept in the safe deposit box).
Backing up is easy, since I'm backing everything up. However, at some point, I suspect my collection might grow to the point that backing everything up no longer makes sense from a cost-of-storage standpoint.
The best I can come up with is to make a dataset (directory) like .../photo/archive and then make sure that the stuff that I really can't live without goes into that directory. Then, just backup that directory.
Of course, better culling of images I know I don't need to keep would go a long way, too.
Anybody have any input?
