I am new to FreeNAS and was wondering about backing up the network. I have a old PC currently running the Free NAS software which has about 900GB of free space. Once I start adding files to this network, what will be the best way to back those file up? Is the cloud an option? I am also OK with backing it up with an additional external hard drive, is that possible? I tried sugarsync but they will not backup a network drive.
I really appreciate all of your help with this.
Thanks

Well, rsync and zfs replication are both good backup solutions. It really depends on what you have and what your needs are. Each situation is different so you really need to investigate all options and make that decision for yourself.

I use crashplan myself and it works great. I haven't used the plugin yet but I'm getting ready to take a look at it.
