I wanted my IPMI to work, realising it wasn't enabled in the kernel.

A simple kldload ipmi would suffice.

But after a reboot it's gone.
How can I make it persistent upon reboot? A sysctl or tunables?

I searched the manual and google, but to no avail :(

It should be possible, there is already a small list of them loaded during boot. I believe the latest versions of FreeNAS also include GUI support for rc style startup and shutdown additions, which may be the better way to tackle this o. a recent version.

Hmm, Guess I should really load up the FreeNAS 9.X beta in a VM and check it out...

I'm on the latest stable release :)

It's under System->Init/Shutdown Scripts->Add Init/Shutdown Script

It allows you to add one of "Type: Command" so that's what I'd try.

We're talking FreeNAS 9.X right? Cause I can't find that in my 8.3.1 system :D
