Hello,

I´m searching a LSI HBA Controller (or RAID Controller in IT Mode) for my first TrueNAS Build.
I´m planing on using a SuperMicro X10 SRM-F with an 2560L v4 (14C/28T), 64 GB RAM (DDR4-2400) and searching for a LSI Controller.
I thought aboutz an SAS93005-16i but i reed that the performance isnt that good.
Which Controller you would recommend?
I´m planing to use the TrueNAS as Shared Storage via iSCSI to my Proxmox Cluster and some NFS Shares.

Kind regards,

I think the SAS3008-based cards are the go-to choice--that'd be the 9300-8i or variants.

You probably want more RAM. And you might want to consider NVMe storage rather than SAS/SATA.

RAM about 128GB?
NVMe would never be ulilized but a ZFS RAID5 with NVME Cache would be sufficient no?
I have currently a QNAP with 6x RAID1+0 with NVMe RAID0 Cache.
