hello

I'm trying to solve an issiue in freenas.

I'm been useing & testing for about a year.

I have an N54l

16 gb kingston eec ram
and 4 wd green drives.

It al was working well. i had it set up in ZSF

i had a weird issiues a drive died, it never had any smart errors, it would just stop a machine, or make it run slow as S**t. anyway returned it and refunded so it was the fault.

now for a plan b backup in case freenas failed again (hardware wise)

i thought about backups offsite.
i plan to use crashplan.

However i'm getting errors on freenas. Causeing it to freeze.

i have not connected my new drive yet as i want to do the following.

(i plan to backup freenas to it only have 3 t on freenas at the mo and crashplan backup will only be about 1.5 - 2t. i'm doing this locally. i'm then take the drive to work and then going to upload it to bitcasa and then after that relink it from home.)

the reason i give this imformation is that i'm not sure if that error is because i m running in a degraded state.

i'm not sure if it a RAM issiues or what....
i read some where about symlinks causing probs but i don t have any active ones.

when i upgraded to freenas 9 the system would not boot at all.
FreeNAS-9.1.1-RELEASE-x64.GUI

i can't remember the fault now.
(edit its not RAM, change it and it does not help at all)
if anyone could advise me on where to start that would be great. i'm planing on doing a mem test first thing monday thanks in advance alias
