Issue with CrossFlashing

Dear TrueNAS Community,

I'm switching from a TerraMaster to hopfully a "old" new Server.
I got a SAS9300-8e (H3-25460-02H) installed.
After reading a lot about it for Accessing an JBOD i wanted to Flash that card to the "TrueNAS" Version.

Before starting the Version 16.00.10.00 IT was on the Card.

Sadly the Guide i was following did not start to backup the current Firmware. So I'm stuck.
I'm using the MSDOS "Version"

My current State:

Trying to List all

This did work before i started.


Trying to flash new: (SASNEW.bin is from the TureNAS Post)

Trying to flash an older Version from here:

Writing an Empty File works.

I'm not sure what to do now?
I hope somebody can help me.

I forgot
I tryied both from the TrueNAS Version:
SAS9300_8e_IT_acm.bin
SAS9300_8e_IT.bin
But because it is an external Card the ACM Version should be the correct one? I think?

I'm not sure whose advice you're following, but stop. All you needed to do was use the UEFI version of sas3flash to update the firmware. You definitely should not have been flashing empty SBRs or wiping the card.

You could use an expert on this topic, and you might get better help over at the STH forums, where this is discussed in depth, but it seems to me that you need to undo what you did and flash the SBR back, flash the card with the proper UEFI tooling, and reprogram the SAS address.

I used MSDOS because the EFI Version did not work for me .... Maybe i did something wrong but i could not get it to work.

The other Questions:
I used a different Guide in the Beginning. Thats why i don't have a Backup of the Original FW.
But in the end I used that Guide:

There's hundreds of threads on crossflashing variants of LSI 9211/9300/9305/9311/94xx cards here, on ServeTheHome, and on blogs. But they don't always discuss the subtleties of doing it on an EFI board for users who may never have used EFI...

This is not a crossflash. A crossflash is when you move from MegaRAID to IT/IR mode.

Why don't you just get one already flashed from somewhere reputable like Art of Server (his ebay store). I have had good luck with his cards and Truenas. Maybe you could even work some sort deal on your messed up one.
