I had a drive fail, RMA's and attached it last week. From the second I plugged it in, the SMART results showed the "Error 1 Error:ABRT" section.

Is the replacement drive damaged? Is it OK to keep using? Or should I ask for a replacement?

Thanks guys!

No idea, but is it weird that it shows spin-up time of 8875 and power-on hours of only 70?

Spinup time is how long it takes the motor to get to full speed (in miliseconds). It's not a run time meter.

As for if the drive is fine or not, It's likely good however I'd run the conveyance test on it for good measure. Normally when I've seen an error in this area of the SMART data, it's more to do with something external to the drive causing the issue, not the drive itself. Off the cuff I'd say it's still a good drive with the data provided.

I'd check with WD to see what they have to say about the replacement drive. Maybe they'll just replace it.
