I am stuck with FreeNAS-11.2-U8 because of legacy jails which are laborsome to update. I would need a new iocage jail but that seems to be impossible to create. I got the certificate issue solved but now releases are missing.

iocage fetch only gives release 12.3-RELEASE and newer. Any possibilities to get 11.2-RELEASE somehow?

Jail upgrades are pretty simple with Iocage. There's plenty of posts on the forum on how to go about this.

If somebody else has the same problem, this command works:

iocage fetch --server ftp-archive.freebsd.org --root-dir /pub/FreeBSD-Archive/old-releases/amd64/

Why are you running three major releases deprecated software? 11.2, 11.3, 12.0 - all EOL. Upgrade to 13.0 to fix your problems.

This is the equivalent of running Windows XP.

I need to get rid of my old warden jails, which I am fully dependent on. Newest available release for them is 11.2-U8. I could install newer version and try to rebuild my jails, if I could be 100% sure that I can roll back to current version.

Would it be easy to do the following:
- Build a new separate FreeNAS (TrueNAS) temporary system
- Build Iocage jails and verify they work
- Upgrade my existing system and remove the old jails
- Copy the new Iocage jails from the temporary system
